FRIENDS OF WAYCROSS
          Help support Waycross

Overview

Waycross is a unique partnership between the Forest Park, Greenhills and Springfield Township governments that provides exciting opportunities to learn, communicate, share ideas and feelings and to build Community.

Waycross was established in 1982, through the cable franchise between our communities and Warner-Amex, now Time Warner Cable. Funding is provided through a franchise fee paid by the cable company to our communites and a small community service fee passed on by Time Warner to our subscribers. Franchise fees are rent that a cable company pays to use public rights of way, and are mandated by the FCC.

Waycross is governed by the 16 member Community Programming Board, which is made up of five citizens appointed by each community, with an at-large chair.

At Waycross Community Media, neighbors come together to develop their own leadership skills directing multi-camera productions while senior citizens discover and share hidden talents. Through Waycross, residents learn video production, exercise their creativity and promote our communities.
